San Francisco Bay Area

The San Francisco Bay Area (SFBA) chapter organizes throughout Alameda, Contra Costa, San Francisco, San Mateo, and Santa Clara counties, including the cities of Oakland, Richmond, San Francisco, and San Jose. We partner with major universities in the area such as UC Berkeley, San Francisco State University, and Santa Clara University, in addition to local high schools & middle schools, to bring awareness on how transnational feminism addresses complex issues related to violence against women of color & queer/trans people of color, youth empowerment, reproductive justice, sex and labor trafficking, immigration, political trauma, state violence, anti-fascism, and ecology.

The SFBA chapter participates in and plans International Women’s Day celebrations, 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, May Day, as well as anti-militarization rallies and forums, indigenous people’s ceremony, anti-colonial & anti-racist demonstrations, prison & police abolition protests, and immigrant rights actions —Educating, mobilizing, and organizing to move beyond solidarity toward an anti-imperialist, transnational feminist praxis for total liberation.

In the past, AF3IRM SF Bay Area Chapter hosted the 2015 Dalit Women Fight! Tour and has presented at conferences, including: The Empowering Women of Color Conference (EWOCC), Conference on Third World Multiracial Solidarity and Community Engagement, and Revolutionary Organizing Against Racism (ROAR).
